In the spring of 2019 we lost our dear friend and founder Henry Owens. I remember the first time I ever saw Hank, it was years ago at the batting cages in Tropical Park. He was in his coach’s uniform putting in the extra work he always knew was needed to help athletes reach their potential. Hank had two young ladies with him wearing their orange and green uniforms and just killing the ball. These two young ladies were his daughters, Jennifer and Chrissy. I knew right then I wanted my own daughters to be Lady Canes. Hank founded our organization in 2002 realizing the need for young ladies to have a place to showcase their talents. Since then, hundreds of young ladies have benefited from his dreams and we hope to be able to continue facilitating that dream. Hank will be missed, but always in our hearts and minds.
